This little girl needs no further introduction… but we will give her one anyway. The rock star of AAO, aka Vanessa, is really just a humble, sweet and lovable girl. She has had a rollercoaster of a life but will now be in the safe, loving, and comforting confines of AAO for as long as she needs to be. She was found in a vacant house at a year old with a severe leg injury that required surgery and brought to the Rochester City Shelter. 

A shelter favorite, she maintained her sweet disposition despite the hell that she had been through. She lucked out and was fostered and then adopted by Jeremy Wolf. She lived a wonderful life as a spoiled and beloved girl for several years, until the summer of 2020. At that time, a freak incident occurred where she was accused of biting the wife of a town attorney who was close friends with the town prosecutor. While the lady did not see who had bitten her, Vanessa was accused and ultimately sentenced to death by the Town Judge. But her Dad, AAO, and an army behind her would not accept this cruel twist of fate. Finally, some 10 months later where she suffered in isolation and solitary confinement, Vanessa was released to us. Despite the severe and unimaginable challenges this dog has faced, her spirit remains intact. Vanessa loves rolling in the grass, playing with her toys, and playing chase around the tree. Best of all, her Dad comes and visits her multiple times a week.
